Strang, Jeffery Wayne

July 20, 1971 - Jan 25, 2007

We lost Jeff on a bright, sunny day. He was doing what he was passionate about - whitewater kayaking. Jeff was paddling Harris Creek - a creek he discovered years ago on his endless search for new paddling adventures. Harris Creek was Jeff’s favourite run - beautiful scenery and continuous, challenging rapids - a kayaker’s dream. Jeff truly loved his life. He had his dream job with the Victoria Fire Department and was looking forward to a kayaking trip in New Zealand this month. Jeff’s 35 years were one great adventure after another. He loved to rock climb and spent the last few summers developing routes at Sansum Narrows. Jeff was a fearless mountain biker with a distinctive style. He was so full of life, so full of love, so full of fun. He often said “No Regrets”. We take solace in knowing he was doing what he loved in a place he loved. Jeff is fondly remembered and terribly missed by so very many friends and family - especially his wife and best friend, Jody and his parents Glenna and Wayne. A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at the Quw’utsun Cultural and Conference Centre, 200 Cowichan Way, Duncan, BC on Saturday, February 3, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the BC Creek Protection Society, Coast Capital Savings, Victoria, Account No. 3911-354.
