JEAN WHIPP (Nee Sanderson)
May 13, 1924 - January 27, 2012
Jean died in Victoria, BC at the age of 87. We trust she is at peace.
Predeceased by her son David (1946), first husband Arthur (1954), second husband Lorne (1967) and five siblings. Survived by her sister Reanie, son Stephen, daughters-in-law Kate and Kathleen, and grandsons Nathan, Nicholas and Christopher, who were the light of her life. She will be missed by many friends and extended family in Canada and England.
Jean was born in Middlesbrough, England and emigrated to Canada in 1951. Widowed twice while in Windsor, Ontario, she subsequently moved to Smithers, BC and then Victoria, BC. In each place, she worked hard, made friends and gave back to the community. Jean was kind, funny and non-judgmental, with a loving heart, positive attitude and strong spirit. A faithful correspondent, she practiced the art of friendship with constancy and love – and was still beating all comers at cribbage a week before she died!
