JANE VICTORIA PODCERVENSKY was called home to the lord on January 18, 2011 with her family by her side.

Jane was born on October 23, 1931 in Pontiac, Michigan to Joseph and Victoria Bobeck and was the youngest of seven children, having one brother and five sisters. After completing high school Jane pursued nursing since she always had a passion for helping people. She married Stanley Podcervensky in 1950 and mothered two wonderful daughters. Jane was so proud when she became a grandmother and loved them with all her heart. Jane continued to work as a Dietary Manager for many years at Medicos in Detroit, Michigan until her retirement. Upon retirement she moved to New Hazelton, B.C. in August 1993 to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. Jane entered long-term care in 2004 after suffering a stroke. Jane will always be remembered for her kindness to all and willingness to lend a helping hand in any situation. Her jokes, laugh and mischievous smile will never be forgotten.

Jane is survived by her sister Josephine Campbell, sister-in-law Nellie Jackary daughters Stanita ‘Stusha’ Messier (Don) and Marsha Brooks (Edward), grandchildren Tera Brooks (Brad) and Tony Brooks (Roxanne) and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends scattered throughout Canada and the United States.

A funeral mass was held at St. Mary’s Church in New Hazelton, B.C. on January 22, 2011 with Father Simon Agboso officiating. Jane was laid to rest in the New Hazelton Cemetery.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to place a memorial bench in Allen Park in New Hazelton, B.C. or to the Northern Society for Domestic Peace Companion Services.
