James Thomas Atrill passed away suddenly in Smithers on March 27, 2007.
Tom was born on November 2, 1927 in the Hazelton Hospital to Bill and Minnie Atrill and was the third of 12 children and grew up on the Atrill farm west of Moricetown.
His working life included carpentry, 33 years on the railroad and many decades in the second hand business. Tom loved to learn and read voraciously all of his life. He also loved company, good discussion and sharing a meal with guests in his home.
Tom was survived by his loving wife Karen, daughter Gladys, stepdaughter Tammy, (Kevin), stepson Dean (Vera), brothers and sisters: Hugh (Bernice), Marj (Cliff), Roy, Allen, Hazel, Muriel (Kevin), Alfred (Gladys), Myrtle (Jim); grandchildren Lindsay, Tyrell, Owen, Jessica, Isaac, Arden, Gabe, Daniel, Orin, Jamie, Megan.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Minnie and Bill; sisters Rosalie and Isabel, and brother Leonard.
A celebration of life for Tom Atrill was held in Smithers on April 2nd.
