James Arthur David

David, James Arthur passed away May 25, 2002 in Hazelton, B.C. Jim was born on March 23, 1913 in Port Coquitlam, B.C. He married Elsie Waddell in 1942 and they had four children.


He served in World War II as a Sargent in the Royal Canadian Artillery. Over the years Jim worked in logging, highways maintenance and as a guard at the New Hazelton R.C.M.P.


Jim began playing the banjo when he was 14 and the accordian when he was 16. He continued playing music into his 88th year.


He was a founding member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Hazelton and received the meritorious award for outstanding service.


Jim will be sadly missed by his wife Elsie; daughters Louise (Gordon) Spooner and Cindy (Bob) Hayden; sons Jim David, and Tom (Melanie) David; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
