Jacob Markus (Jack) Kryger
June 20, 1932 to Dec. 19, 2002
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will give us later.

Jack was born on June 20, 1932 in Arnemuiden, Holland. He was the eldest of 8 children. In 1953 he immigrated to Canada, living in Acton, Ontario, where he met his wife Rose. They were married in April 1957. Together they bought a farm in Acton.
In 1960 they ventured out West to Smithers, B.C. with a one-year old-son. Jack worked in the bush. Later on he had his own block factory and was in the building trade, building basements, stores, schools and warehouses. In the meantime Jack and Rose were blessed with 3 daughters. In 1980, with a partner, they bought the Panelboard plant which he ran.
Jack found out he had cancer in 1988. He had some good and bad years in between. He had to retire early, but the Lord gave him and Rose time to travel and be together. In September of 2001, Jack and Rose moved to Vernon, B.C. to be near to all their children. Jack was a man of faith and his family was blessed with a loving, caring and compassionate husband, Dad and Grandpa.
Jack will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Rose; Son, John and Lisa Kryger, Langley, B.C.; Daughters, Helene and Steve DeJong, Vernon, B.C., Debbie and Ed Haar, Vernon, B.C., Anita Kryger, Vernon, B.C.; Six grandchildren, four step grandchildren; Brothers and sisters, Mark and Connie Kryger, Smithers, B.C., Ko and Corrie Kryger, Holland, Cor and Janny Kryger, Holland, Riet and Wim Op’t Hof, Holland, Rika and Gerrit VanZwieten, Holland, Truida and Riny Rouw, Holland, John and Debbie Kryger, Michigan, USA; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, Johannes and Antonina, and his granddaughter Stephanie Maire DeJong.
A memorial service was held at the Vernon Christian Reformed Church on Dec. 23, 2002 with Pastor Jim Poleman, of Smithers, officiating.
