Ida Alberta Silversides
April 27, 1923 – July 26, 2009
Ida Alberta Silversides was born in Prince Rupert on April 27, 1923 and passed away at Surrey, B.C. on July 26, 2009 after courageously battling multiple illnesses for several years. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert, and her three children, Don, Doug and Kathy (Ron), and her granddaughter, Nicole. Raised in Hazelton, B.C. she moved to Vancouver during WWII to assist the war effort by working at the Boeing plant in Marpole. She then returned to Prince Rupert where she met and married Robert. They raised their family in Prince Rupert and moved to Vancouver in the mid 1960’s.
Ida lived life to its fullest enjoying every moment. A true contrarian, she will be sadly missed by her family and friends. At her wish there will be no formal funeral service but a party in her honour will be held at a later date.
