Gregory Dean Bergeron

April 28, 2006

Nov. 10,1963 – April 28, 2006

Greg was born in Calgary, AB on Nov. 10, 1963 & was taken away from us April 28, 2006 in a tragic fall. He leaves behind his parents that love him dearly; Rene & Patricia Bergeron, brothers Terry (Carolyn), Darren (Christina) & sister Bonnie Sayer (Ryan). Grandmother Rose Cote (Al) & many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. He also leaves behind so many people that have been touched by his compassion, sincerity, & his giving spirit.

Greg moved many times with his family throughout his growing years; Remac, Beaverdell, Kitwanga and Smithers. For the last 16 years Greg called Castlegar home and made many friends while working at Pope & Talbot.

Greg enjoyed many sports in his life. In bowling he made the 400 club, in softball he and his team mates brought home many trophies and enjoyed great accomplishments including winning the tournament with Greg being named MVP competing in the BC Provincials with his Smithers softball team. Greg also enjoyed many adventures and successes with the Castlegar teams.

Greg’s latest passion was fishing and camping and this is what he was doing when he met his untimely end. We will take some comfort in knowing Greg’s last moments were filled with the joy of doing what he loved.

Greg shared many of his accomplishments with those around him, receiving academic awards and scholarships in high school & possessing the uncanny ability to do complex mathematical equations in his head.

Greg’s passion & gift for music shone through by having an ability to remember song artists, labels & lyrics. He also brought joy & laughter everywhere he went and always had time to have a drink with friends, many who called Greg by his nicknames; Stix, Juice & Bouge.

A Celebration of Greg’s life will be held Saturday, May 13 at 11:00 am at the Pentecostal Church with reception to follow downstairs. 602 – 7th Street, Castlegar, BC.

The family invites friends and relatives to sign Greg’s Book of Condolence, which will be in the foyer of the Pentecostal Church on May 13, 2006.

Donations will be accepted for a park bench in memory of Greg. Notification will be published for date and time of placement.
