(Gladys) Orline Franson

(Gladys) Orline Franson (nee Mutch) was born on Sept. 21, 1915, in Rosalind, Alberta, to Josephine (Jo) and Robert (Cole) Mutch.

She moved to Smithers in 1918 where she has had her home ever since. The home her father built and she grew up in, is now the Heritage House on 1st Avenue.

Orline was a member of the Order of the Royal Purple since 1934 and a member of the bridge club for nearly 50 years.

She is predeceased by her husband Eric, her son Leonard and daughters Judith and Brenda (Price).

She is survived by her son Errol (Joan), daughter Norma (Ivan), son in-law Cliff, daughter-in-law Molly, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters.

A memorial service was held for Orline on Feb. 5, 2007. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elks & Royal Purple Fund for Children, c/o The Royal Purple, Box 3122, Smithers, B.C.
