George Wesley (Wes)

Wes was born in Newlands, B.C. April 21, 1918 and passed away peacefully April 1, 2002 at Wrinch Memorial Hospital, Hazelton, B.C.
Wes was the second child of seven boys and seven girls. He is predeceased by 3 sisters.
Wes loved the outdoors! He was an avid hunter, a great fisherman, a conscientious trapper, and an excellent mushroom picker. He loved camping and later took up 4-wheeling. He was a member of the Kitwanga Rod and Gun Club and also became an excellent Archer.
Wes worked in logging most of his life, firstly in the Cariboo area, then the Houston area moving to the Kitwanga are in 1968. He worked for Hobenshield Logging then for Meek Logging, retiring at the age of 68.
Wes loved a good game of crub it was his favourtie pastime.
“You gotta be tough,” was Wes’ motto and he was!
Wes will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend of 51 years, Cora, his son Bruce of Smithers, and his daughter Beth (John) Jones of Kitwanga.
