Gary Wayne Miltenberger
Born February 13, 1950 in Seattle, WA. Died May 23,
2011 in Meziadin Lake, BC.
Second son to L. Joseph Miltenberger and Juanita G. Miltenberger
of Shelton, WA.
Two brothers, Scott (Chehalis, WA) and David (Henderson,
NV), and sister Patsy (Spokane, WA). Raised on a small family
farm near Shelton, WA.
Graduate of Shelton High School (Class of 1968) and University
of Washington College of Forest Resources (Class of
1972).
Married in 1971 to Dawn A. Olli, two sons Leif (Nanaimo,
BC) and Torger (Victoria, BC), and daughter Svea (Whitehorse,
YT). Divorced in 1996. Immigrated to Canada in 1974;
naturalized Canadian citizen in 1978.
Registered British Columbia professional forester, 1983.
Founding partner of Steelhead Valhalla Lodge, 1984. Worked
as a professional forester, communications consultant, commercial
fisherman, sport fishing guide, petroleum industry
regulator, adventure tourism & wilderness guide, and small
business owner/operator.
Lived in the Bella Coola Valley, Smithers, Whitehorse, Dease
Lake, Fort St. John and Meziadin Lake, BC. Loved the outdoors,
especially salmon and steelhead fishing, caribou and
moose hunting, and flying.
As per his wishes, there will be no memorial nor funeral services.
Donations in remembrance of him may be made to the
University of Washington College of Forest Resources.
