The forest was Fritz's second home where he processed trees and promoted replanting for future generations.
Born in Berghain, Silesia on November 05,1922, he arrived in Telkwa November 1951. He served many years on Telkwa Village Council including as Mayor and with the BV Regional District Board.
In September 2011, Fritz moved to Smithers.
He was predeceased by his wife, Renate in October 2000. He is survived by his relatives in Germany. From humble beginnings, he passed away peacefully on January 30, 2019.
