Van Essen, Frederick Raymond, born in Saskatoon, Sk on August 3, 1931, passed away peacefully at Moog & Friends Hospice House with family at his side on July 27, 2007.
Fred is survived by his loving family: wife Florence, daughters Michelle (James) Baker of Lacombe, AB, Angelique (Dave) Powell of Salmon Arm, BC, Lisa (Stan) Sanders of Smithers, BC, and Robyn (Les) Wettstein of Abbotsford, BC, three precious grandchildren, Austen Sanders and Vanessa Sanders of Westbank, BC, Tiffany (Ryan) Reeves of Edmonton, AB, and his sister Wynne Churchill of Calgary, and her family.
Fred was raised in Saskatoon, the son of William and Ethel Van Essen. He was educated there and began his Telephone career with Siemens, the company instrumental in bringing the dial telephone system to the Okanagan and many other places.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 11:00 am from the Seventh Day Adventist Church 290 West Warren, Penticton, BC.
