BAILEY, Frederick George “Fred”, 95, Yarmouth, N.S. passed away peacefully on 2 September, 2011 in Villa Saint Joseph du lac. Born 23 Nov 1915 in Nottingham, England, he was the son of the late William and Grace (Bagnall) Bailey. Fred’s family were homesteaders in Viking, Alta., immigrating to Canada in 1904. In 1956 Fred moved to Smithers, B.C. and there he found Floris (Flo). They married in 1970 and settled into their own place in Telkwa, B.C. After retirement, Fred and Flo moved to N.S., first in the Annapolis Valley then later in Yarmouth. Fred continued “Plugging right along” until his health failed. Fred was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife Flo, Yarmouth, N.S. and his adopted family: Irene Nickerson, Beverly Hickson, Yarmouth, N.S.; Joseph (Marielle) Crowell, Trois Rivieres, QC; and Dick Crowell, North East Point, N.S. He is also survived by his adopted family of many grand children, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters: Doris, Fanny, and Grace and adopted daughter Nellie (Crowell) Petersen. Visitation took place in Barrington, N.S. with internment attended by his family in the Hillside Cemetery, Brass Hill, N.S.
