Frances May, age 91, passed away on February 5th, 2018 at her home in Smithers.

Frances has requested there be no public service with her family to have a private interment in the spring.

Frances was born in lnverness, Scotland and shortly after moved to Bordon Camp in England.

As a teenager, she worked at Bordon Camp in England as a mess hall nursing sisters assistant. She met Murray while working at Bordon Camp as he had been deployed to England to serve his time in the 2nd World War.

They married after the war and Frances moved to Canada in 1946 to start her new life. She was transported to Canada on the ship "Lady Rodney" along with several hundred war brides. She settled on the May family farm in Millwood, Manitoba and they moved to Russell, Manitoba not far away where all of the kids were born.

They made the big move to BC and up to Smithers for work, Frances spent the majority of her life in Smithers raising the family.

She is survived daughter Kathy Eddy (Carl), Bill May (Anne), and Fred May (BettyAnne). She has 5 grandsons, Judy May (Lana), Christopher May (Megan), Tyler Eddy (Stephanie), Devon Eddy (Kailyn), and Lucas Eddy (Riza).

She has 2 grandaughters: Brittany May and Carly May as well as three great grandaughters: Ava Eddy, Addison May and Brooklyn May. And one great grandson Murray Eddy.

Frances loved her extended family and was always thrilled when they came to visit. She will be terribly missed by her family and many friends and it is a comfort to know that she is now with Murray.

She loved to curl and enjoyed cross country skiing with Murray, and was a long-time member of the Royal Purple. Frances also volunteered at "The New To You" store for over 40 years and enjoyed her time there very much.
