ERIC METCHETTE
Born November 20, 1928, in Dublin, Ireland. Passed away peacefully at home in Kelowna, B.C., surrounded by his loving family on May 8, 2004. A graduate of the Hibernian Marine School in Dublin, Ireland, at the age of 15, Eric participated in one of the last convoys of WWII. He served with the British Merchant Marine for ten years. Eric is survived by his wife, Glenna, his children: Susan Bowen of 100 Mile House, Kimberley Reeves of West Vancouver, Marylyn Needham of Kelowna, and James (Jim) Metchette of West Vancouver; his grandchildren: Kate and Bryan Dalrymple, Brendan and Hailey Reeves, and Alex and Paige Needham. The family wishes to thank all of the staff of the Palliative Team for their wonderful support. If family or friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross.
