It with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Marguerite (Marg) Lubbers, (Nee Spence). Marg was born on September 4, 1924 in Edmonton AB, first born of Harry and Maggie Spence; she died peacefully in Powell River BC on June 1, 2021.
She was a long-time resident of the Bulkley Valley and very active in her community and church. She was passionate about her family and loved all of us. She was honoured to be recognized as an elder in the community at Smithers Secondary School by the youth of the community.
She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years Henry Joseph Lubbers, Her Parents Maggie and Harry Spence, Brothers: Jim, Glenn, Dennis, Donn, Jerry, and Arthur Spence. Daughters, Heather Lynn Delisle, Sharren B Anwell. Son-in-laws, Ted Lebioda, Richard Doll and Skip Delisle. Grandson Nicholas Doll.
Left to mourn are her Sister June C Nash of New Hazelton, and Brother Mike Spence of Quesnel BC. Children: June (Bruce) Lang, Kitwanga BC, David (Farida) Lubbers, Keremeos BC, Donn (Bev) Lubbers, Kelowna BC, Nancy (Ken) Voth, Wanham AB, Patty (Wally) Eddy, Cranbrook, BC, Kathy (Jim) Grant, Victoria BC. Grandchildren, Kara (Brian) Krafft, Katherine Lebioda, Gerry Elsworth, Cindy Elliott, Roy Elsworth, Dean Elsworth, Dave (Natalie) Lubbers, Jodi (David) McCarthy, Tim (Simone) Lubbers, Lisa (Robb) Wilson, Mark (Sian) Doll, Justin Doll, Jennifer (Jon) Mctaggert, Sarah (Cody) Thompson, Christine (Charlie) Ruby, Erin (Ryan) Munro, Brian (Mireille) Grant, Kelli- Lynn Lubbers, Jordin (Shantelle) Hartmann. Plus numerous Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren, Nephews and Nieces.
A Memorial Service will be planned in Smithers as soon as COVID rules allow us to get together. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Smithers Community Services Association in her memory.
