Keilty, Douglas Reynolds
It is with deep regret that the family announces the passing of Douglas Reynolds Keilty, born November 19, 1921 in Chase Creek, B.C.
He died peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital on August 28, 2002, with his wife at his bedside.
In recent months he had endured several strokes and fought a courageous battle to the end.
Doug was a long time employee of the B.C. Forest Service. He and his family moved to Smithers, B.C. in 1965 where they lived for 32 years, acquiring many friends and memories.
Doug and his wife moved to White Rock in 1997 where they have resided in Breakaway Bays.
Doug was a strong, quiet man who was a devoted husband and father.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Jeannie Keilty, survived by his loving wife Edith, daughters Maureen (Gary) and Susan.
He also leaves to mourn sisters Mabel (Dick) of Kelowna, Gladys (Lloyd) of Bermuda and brother Leslie (Lovie) of Vernon.
As well, he will be missed by sisters-in-law Pat and Betty Nelson and Anne Stewart, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Break a way Bays Activity Centre, 1840 160th Street, Surrey, B.C.
Interment of ashes to take place in Chase, B.C. at a later date.
