In Loving Memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend, Donald Edward Grudgfield.

Don was born on January 22, 1948, in Flin Flon, Manitoba and was taken from us suddenly on September 15, 2024, at the age of 76 years.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 24 years, Donna, his daughter Kimberley Lacharite (Andrew), daughter Nadine Lawless (Sean), stepson Stephen Tolnai (Jane) 3 Grandchildren Nina, Emilia and Addison and his Indigenous daughter Angie Morris.

Don was a retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He joined the RCMP in 1967 and spent his service in postings all across Canada, retiring in Smithers, in the community he loved so much.

He served as both a regular Member, court Liaison Officer and Instructor in the Depot Division in Regina, Saskatchewan. During his Service, he was awarded his Long Service Medal, Commanding Officers Commendation for Bravery and Presence of Mind whilst Wounded and Confronted by an Armed and Dangerous Person.

Don loved Fishing and Hunting and all the wilderness activities in Smithers and the surrounding areas had to offer. He retired here to spend his life with family and friends in the Bulkley Valley. He loved his Family most of all.

He will be greatly missed

by all who knew him.

There will be no service by request. Donations may be made in his name to M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers)
