In Loving Memory ~
Don was born in Vancouver on October 11, 1951 and passed away in Kamloops on October 17, 2022.
Don started his teaching career in 1976 in Masset, on Haida Gwaii. It was there he met his wife Janet. They were married in 1977 and moved to Smithers in 1979.
Don taught at Muheim and Walnut Park until he retired in 2008. Don was a gifted educator and touched the lives of many, many students over his 32 year teaching career.
After he retired, Don enjoyed going to the pool and visiting over coffee afterwards. He also purchased a motorhome - his 'sparkly' - and enjoyed many camping trips. Don and Janet moved to Kamloops in 2018 to be closer to family.
Don had a wonderful sense of humour and loved playing practical jokes. He was a very caring man and a good friend to many. His passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts.
Don is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet, sons Ian (Kacey) and Stuart (Janelle) and his 5 very precious grandchildren - Mason, Addison, Annabelle, Jackson and Aedan. Don loved being 'grandpa'.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life in Kamloops in the spring.
