Don Parminter passed away May 19/2021 at the age of 78 following a recent stroke.
Don was born in Quesnel, B.C. to John & Greta Parminter. He started working at Keen's Store at the age of 16, and then moved on to a 38 year career with BC Hydro.
Don married Terry in 1965, and his job moved them to all the corners of B.C. including Powell River, Kimberley, Stewart, Golden, Chetwynd and Terrace before settling in the Bulkley Valley in 1989.
Don was predeceased by his parents, and siblings Barbara, Jack, Bill, Roberta and Margaret, as well as his loving wife Terry.
Don will be immensely missed by his daughter Lori (Greg) McCormick of Powell River and grandchildren Jake, Josh and Tera, son Mark (Heidi) of Smithers, and nephew Brian Jungen (who joined the family in 1977). He will also be lovingly remembered by his 2 remaining siblings, Betty (Sandy) of West Vancouver, and Dave (Kathy) of Dawson Creek, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don had a passion for travel and spending time outdoors. He had many adventures flying his plane throughout B.C. and many areas of Canada and the U.S., traveling all over North America in his motorhome, and endless hours spent skiing and hiking at all the hills and trails he could discover. He was a long time volunteer with the Provincial Emergency Program, and he and his plane assisted in many searches for lost hikers over the years.
Don's greatest treasures were his family and friends, and he was known to never miss a family get together or a local event (especially if it involved music) with friends. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
His family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the BC Cancer Agency or The Provincial Emergency Program Air (PEP AIR). Please contact markparm@telus.net for info on how to donate to PEP AIR.
A celebration of life will be planned, date to be decided.

He came and enjoyed.
Now his flight continues through
unclouded memories.
