DON HUNT

July 16, 2006

DON HUNT of Summerland, BC, passed away July 16, 2006 at the age of 74 years after a valiant effort with cancer.

Lovingly Remembered and Sadly Missed by his wife: Betty of Summerland; Children: Tamra (Glen) Brennan of Summerland, Bill (Wendy) Hunt of New Hazelton;. Grandchildren: Amanda, Jenna and Jodie Brennan, Donald and Jessica Hunt; Sisters: Margaret Avery of Benito, MB, Helen Brydie of Geraldton, ON.

Sadly predeceased by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

“Don had many varied and interesting career choices in his life. He started out learning the meat cutting business as a young man and then went with his father building houses for a mining company in Northern Manitoba. He commercial fished the northern lakes as well. In 1954 he decided to come to BC and work in road construction and logging for the following 38 years. Don retired from Log Purchasing in 1994. Don always had a carpenter shop to make and repair items as needed. Many in the family have reminders of Don’s great carpenter skills. Fishing, hunting, curling, golfing, and a good game of cards was what Don enjoyed. He valued his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life was held for Don on Friday, July 21, 2006, in Summerland. Memorial tributes may be made to: Moog and Friends Hospice House, 1701 Government Street, Penticton, BC V2A 8J7
