May 5, 1941 - December 5, 2019
It is with a sad heart and many fond memories, that we say goodbye to our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Dianne was born in Vancouver in 1941. She spent her childhood in the Forest Grove region of BC. Dianne moved to the Bulkley Valley in 1967 with her family and lived in many communities of BC, including Houston, Smithers and Kitimat, with short intervals in New Westminster and Gold River. She enjoyed the outdoors, swimming and was an avid fisherman.
Dianne was a hardworking, strong and independent lady who loved her family and her friends. With all that she went through due to her health, we never heard her complain. She leaves behind her husband, Alfred Madsen from Kitimat and her sons, Herb (Charlotte) and John, and stepdaughter Tammy; grandchildren, Christie (Alvin), Jesse (Melissa), Olivia and Omar; six great grandchildren, Cassandra, Danae, Kiptyn, Emma, Clare and Kynslee.
Dianne is survived by her sisters, Lorraine and Patricia. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Florence Hartwig of Forest Grove BC.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the medical staff of the Kitimat General Hospital and the family, friends and homecare workers who helped make Dianne's last few years as comfortable as possible.
Dianne's sons and their families would especially like to thank her husband, Al for many, many years of loving care which he unselfishly and faithfully gave Dianne throughout their entire marriage, as she faced many health challenges.
At Dianne's request, there will not be a memorial service.
