Corry Sikkes (nee Stroet) of Smithers, B.C., passed away December 15, 2017 at the age of 82.
Corry was born in Hoorn, Netherlands, on May 20, 1935. She immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of 18. Shortly after arriving in Canada she met Theo Sikkes who became her husband of 61 years. Together they owned and operated Paul's Bakery for 25 years.
Corry's pride and joy were her family and she loved to share stories of her children and grandchildren. Corry had a strong faith and volunteered for many years at St. Joseph's Church and School.
She stayed active through yoga, line dancing, skiing, golfing, biking and walking. Corry had a smile and a hug for everyone. She especially enjoyed having coffee and Sunday brunches with her family and friends.
Corry's love and affection will be missed by her husband Theo, children Marion (Randy), Julie (Jeff), Karen, Brian (Sheona), Glen (Tina), Monica (Devon), 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Corry was predeceased by her daughters Brenda and Patty, brother Pete and sister Afra.
