Wall, Colleen Patricia passed away at home on June 27, 2010.

Colleen was born in Smithers on Oct. 17, 1960, the youngest of the seven children of Pearl and the late Alton Wall. She grew up in Smithers and spent most of her youth riding her horse around the valley. She graduated from Smithers Secondary School and later received her B.Sc. from S.F.U. and her B.Ed. from U.Vic.

She embraced her chosen career in education and began a series of moves around B.C. finally returning to Smithers in 1998 where she continued her career in Houston, Lake Kathlyn, Walnut Park and SSS.

Colleen embraced life and was always up for any adventure. She was passionate about kayaking, snowboarding, volleyball and hockey. Her love of good food and good friends ensured a full table at any opportunity. She enjoyed traveling and it didn’t take much persuasion to get her to fly off to a foreign country.

Colleen leaves behind her partner of many years and adventures, Bruce Hutchinson, her two daughters, Samantha (Wes) and Jessie, as well as Bruce’s two sons, Brendan and Jordie.

Her mother Pearl, her sisters Leona, Joan, Betty, and Barb and her brothers George and Jerry will profoundly miss her.

The Hutchinson and Wall families would like to thank their friends and relatives for their support, warm hugs, prayers, flowers, donations and best wishes during and after our last days with Colleen.

A grateful thank you to Drs Preto, Hart and Bastian, the Hospice Society, the Home Care Nurses, the Home Support staff and to Rev. Alyssa Anderson and the United Church Women. All do such a wonderful service to our families when the need is there. This is truly an amazing and special place to live.

Donations to the Bulkley Valley Hospice Society (Box 8, Smithers, B.C., V0J 2N0) would be greatly appreciated.
