Christina Allison-Holmes/VandenBorn

April 23, 2006

On a glorious Sunday morning, April 23, 2006, Christina Allison-Holmes/VandenBorn went home to be with her Lord.

Born in the Netherlands Nov. 28, 1916, she immigrated to Canada with her family in 1953 and lived throughout British Columbia during her life. Thanks to her son Edward, Christina was able to stay at their home in Westbank and together they made many trips to exciting locations.

Family and faith were integral parts of Christina’s life and she was always full of love and joy. An involved member of many churches, Christina’s faith surrounded her and inspired her. A loving daughter, a loyal wife, a devoted mother, and a proud Oma, nothing brought her more happiness than being with her many relatives.

A traveller at heart, Christina loved meeting people, making new best friends and remembering old ones. An active member of the many communities she resided in, she remained on the go in any way possible and had a memory that was unsurpassed; her ability to recall scripture was a testament to this.

She will be remembered with love by her children Janneke, Connie, Sophie, John, Jacob, Edward, Audie, Bob, Will and their spouses and extended family. Her 22 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren will always remember their Oma – we love you Omie!

A celebration of her life was held Saturday, April 29, at Powers Creek Community Church, Westbank, B.C. Interment followed in Westbank Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Hansons’ Arbor Westwood Funeral Chapel, 250-768-3702.

Philipians 3:13-14. Special thanks to the nurses on 3 East — God bless you.
