Carmel Rita Kraft

June 3, 2006

Jan. 9, 1908 - June 3, 2006

Carmel moved out to New Hazelton from Burlington, Ont., in 1990 to be near her daughter. She fell in love with the scenery and was delighted when she saw some wildlife.

Mother was close to her family even though she left her son and daughter-in-law and grandchildren behind. She made friends with members of St. Mary Magdellan’s parish and friends of Hospice, especially Willie Spooner. Biff Spooner would drop in on her and took her to a friend’s hobby farm where Mom made friends with a llama. Mother’s true love was her little dog called Hamlet who actually knew who was boss.

In 2001 Mother returned to her son’s home in Burlington. Her little dog Hamlet has since returned to God’s country.

Mother was predeceased by her husband Karl in 1964. She leaves behind Carol Anne (Douglas Tait), Karl Joseph Kraft (Lida), grandchildren Trina (Drew Harling), Mira (Jason Matz), Sarah (Phil Cordozo) and several great-grandchildren.

Many thanks for the masses and prayers offered by Father Gordon Cook and parish members. Thanks to Hospice.

Donations can be made to the Diabetes Association or Hospice.

We will dearly miss Mother.
