Betty Irene Johnson

1933 - 2007

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Betty on January 9, 2007 after a very short battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Ken, one son Rodney of Kamloops and one grandson Clayton. She also leaves to cherish her memory four brothers: Arnie, Alf, Jerry and Donny and two sisters: Edith and Donna.

Betty was predeceased by both her parents.

Betty was born in Bright Bank, Alberta and moved with her parents to Ocean Falls in the 1940’s. She later moved to Prince Rupert before moving to Smithers where she met Ken, her loving husband of 50 years. Ken and Betty resided in Smithers until 1966 at which time they moved to Kamloops with their family.

They enjoyed many happy times at their cabin on East Barriere Lake. Betty was an avid gardener and a keen and competitive curler. After Ken’s retirement, they travelled extensively in their motorhome in the U.S. and Canada.

Betty was a determined, meticulous and organized homemaker whose family was her first priority.

We would like to thank the staff of RIH for their care and support.

The family wishes that any expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the BC Cancer Society, 399 Royal Ave., Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 5L3 in memory of Betty.

Schoening Funeral Service entrusted with cremation arrangments.
