Peacefully, at the age of 82 in Smithers BC.
Bernie was born in Tecumseh Ontario. After moving to BC in 1976, he ran North Country Sports and Bernie's Kustom Autobody. He was a licensed pilot and loved taking friends and family up in his plane.
Bernie was friend and mentor to many young people through his love for cars and airplanes. He also loved dogs and took in many strays over the years.
Predeceased by his wife Evelyn (2008), he will be greatly missed by son James and daughter Lynne Joncas (Mike), grandchildren Jennipher Needham, Ryan and Lucas Desjardins, Graham and Eliizabeth Joncas, great grandchildren Bria, Grace and Ellie Needham, and his brothers and sister in Ontario.
Special friends Dale and Leonard thought of Bernie as a father and best friend and will miss him dearly as well. There may be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Donations in Bernie's memory to the Humane Society are welcomed.
