In Loving Memory ~
Audrey Bernice was born in Chilliwack B.C. She passed away peacefully in Smithers on Sept. 24th after a full life of 99 years. Her enjoyment of friends and family (and good genes) all contributed to her longevity.
She grew up on a farm and later raised her 7 children in Chilliwack before moving to Kitwanga in 1974. After living in Kitwanga many years, she moved to Pioneer Place in Smithers. For the past four years she resided at The Meadows.
The eldest daughter, she was predeceased by her mother and father, Ida and Arthur Jones, her first husband, Albert Morgan, her second husband, Richard Brandon, her brothers Clifford, Gar, Ed, and Dick Jones, her children Donald, Clifford, and Ken Morgan, daughter, Judy Clarke, and her grandchildren Wayne Morgan, Brian and Jamie Clarke, and Meagan Apps.
She loved her family, hugs, flowers, crib, and going on trips with Richard when not "scootering" around Smithers. She loved social events and took enjoyment from lawn bowling, card nights, crib tournaments and bus trips. An avid card player, she also loved to crochet, read and watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
She was loved and will be missed by her siblings Don (Judy) Jones, Pat McMillan, sons Dennis (Cathy) and Roy Morgan, daughter Brenda Apps, stepdaughter Diane Fordyce and family, as well as by 15 grand children, 6 step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
We are indebted to her circle of friends and her stepdaughter Diane who looked out for her and helped care for her over the years she resided in Smithers. We are especially grateful for the wonderful tenants and caring staff at the Meadows for their patience, care, and special attention to Audrey's needs.
At Audrey's request her ashes will be placed with other family at the Kitwanga Valley Cemetery. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held next summer in Kitwanga. If you wish, a donation in her memory can be made to the Kidney Foundation of B.C.
We hope you will count it a privilege to have known Audrey and remember her words: when asked how she lived such a long life, she responded, "Be happy."
