June 22, 1946 - December 4, 2020
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Anne Herd on Dec 4, 2020 at the Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver, BC.
Anne was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on June 22, 1946. She immigrated to Canada after her wedding to David Herd in 1966. Along with Dave, they lived in Saskatoon, SK; Hendrix Lake, BC and finally in Granisle, BC as Dave worked in the mining industry. She resided in Granisle until her death.
Anne was active in the community, where she put her many talents to use. She was a brownie leader for her girls, she volunteered with the skating club and ladies auxiliary. She donated many craft items to various charities. Her sewing skills began in Scotland and when she became a mother she put those skills to work making clothes for her children. From there, she became well known as the lady who could make and fix anything, including skating dresses, grad and wedding dresses, quilts and crocheted stuffed toys. In her later years she created many treasured craft items and began her own business in the community called Pins 'n' Needles.
Anne will be extremely missed and loved by her daughter Amanda Herd of Prince George, BC; son Trevor (Peggy) Herd of Kelowna, BC; daughter Judy Firomski of New Westminster, BC; her grandchildren Taylor (Jil), Mykayla (Jesse), Noah, Graeme, Emily, Jaiden, Dontae, her two sisters and their families.
Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Dave and her parents.
The family would like to thank the Houston Ambulance Service, Smithers Hospital and VGH for the excellent care Anne received during her final days.
A joint Celebration of Life for Mum and Dad will be held at a later date when we can all gather together again.
