February 2, 1928 - December 12, 2021
We are sad to announce the passing of Anne Greene, the beloved wife of the late Burton Greene.
Mom passed away at Cairnsmore place in Duncan on December 12th with Raymond and family by her side. Mom was born in Glentanna on the family farm on February 2, 1928 , the eldest of 11 children. Their big hill was home to the fire lookout and is known as the Malkow Lookout today.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, 5 sisters, 4 brothers, as well as our dad Burton in 2011 and our sister Barb in 2014. She is survived by her sister Lorraine from New Brunswick.
Left to mourn her are her children Fred & (Veronica) granddaughter Stacey. Sandra & grandchildren Kelly, Jamie, Tanya, & great grandchildren, Michelle, Levi, Thomas, Wyatt, & Brianna.
Jim & (Rhonda) Grandchildren Zachary & Emily. Raymond ( Michele) grandchildren Alysha & Amanda. Barbs sons Lee (Breanna) & their children Alyssa & Mathew. Michael (Alina) & their children Logan & Hunter.
Also left to mourn are many nieces and nephews and many good friends. The family would like to extend our extreme gratitude to Mom's neighbours Al & Marge Coupe who so kindly spent hours helping mom with many of her needs. Many thanks to her many other friends who helped as well and took the time to pop in for a cup of tea, take a drive for ice-cream, or to say hello.
Its hard to sum up the impact Mom had on the lives of so many. She had a heart of gold and a generous spirit. No visitor left the house empty handed. She was the hardest working person I've ever known and I've never found a match for her work ethic. From her greenhouses, large garden, and magical yard covered in so many flowers and fruit trees, mom left behind her broad knowledge of life skills to her children and grand children. No one could ever replicate her amazing sauerkraut.
Rest well mom.
We will miss you and love you dearly and forever.
