Amelia Helen Nedelec

Sept. 23 1921 — Feb. 13 2004

Amy was born in Kisby Sask. in 1921. Her parents Joseph Zelter and Maria Ann (Palicz) immigrated to Canada from Romania in 1921. They settled and farmed in southern Sask.

Amy was the eldest of six children. She worked the farm and fields with her father.

Her mother died at 39 of Fabry disease. So she was busy in the home too.

When Amy left home, she worked out at restaurants, homecare, babysitting, whatever.

She and Dad met and were married in Regina November 29, 1943.

They moved to BC in 1947 and into Telkwa in 1950. They had four children — Dianne, Larry, Ron, Jerry. Amy took in ironing, mending, housecleaning for others. She later worked at Telkwa Forest Nursery for 20 years. She was a janitor at the Telkwa Hall for many years.

She played guitar, loved country and western music, dances and Bingo. She liked gardening and had lots of birds. Some which she raised herself. She liked to walk around town, talk to people and feed the birds. She frequented Super Valu and Schimmels. Everyone knew Amy and her smile.

She is not gone. When you hear the birds think of her.

We miss you Mom,

Love from your family
