Some in the community have reported hearing a loud noise in Smithers during the evening of Mar. 13.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., the loud sound began and persisted for several minutes. The noise has been compared to an extremely loud engine.
Fire Chief Keith Stecko said he was unaware of the noise.
