Vandals damage golf carts at Smithers Golf and Country Club

Vandals broke into a golf-cart compound at the Smithers Golf and Country Club sometime after 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 6.

Vandals broke into a golf-cart compound at the Smithers Golf and Country Club sometime after 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 6.

The suspects damaged the ignition systems on four golf carts, punctured the rear tires on two others, and drove one cart off the property, leaving it on a nearby trail.

The suspects also siphoned fuel from other carts.

Staff discovered the damage when they reopened the golf course at 8 a.m. on Sept. 7.
