UPDATE: Road dust advisory ended

The Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the Northern Health Authority ended the Road Dust Advisory.

The Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the Northern Health Authority has ended the Road Dust Advisory for Burns Lake, Houston, Smithers and Terrace.

Precipitation caused concentrations of coarse particulates to decrease considerably.

The provincial air quality objective for coarse particles, PM10, is 50 micrograms per cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours.

Over the last 24-Hour average PM10 concentrations averaged 23 micrograms per cubic metre in Smithers.
