UPDATE: Terrace RCMP confirms death of man reported missing yesterday

UPDATE: Samuel Olmeda, the man reported missing on Dec. 20, has died and is no longer considered a missing person, confirmed the Terrace RCMP.

The police said they were made aware of Olmeda’s death in Prince George by his family members this morning (Dec. 21).

While the police were not able to share details about his death, the Terrace Standard received messages from members of the public saying that he passed away due to health complications.

Olmeda was reported missing on Dec. 17 by his employers in Terrace after he was last seen on Nov. 10.

The RCMP encourages the public to file a missing complaint as soon as possible with the nearest detachment if a person they are familiar with and interact on a regular basis has not been seen for a while.

Terrace RCMP is seeking help in locating Samuel Olmeda, who was reported missing on Dec. 17.

In a news release issued on Dec. 20, the police said Olmeda was last seen on Nov. 10.

Based on the description provided, 64-year-old Olmeda is an Indigenous male with black hair, brown eyes, weighing 91 kgs (201 lbs) and 178 cms (five feet 10 inches) tall.
