Telkwa Mayor Darcy Repen made a post on social media Wednesday that he is OK after a crash west of Hazelton Tuesday.

He said in the post that he was on his way to a meeting for the Northwest Resource Benefits Alliance, a group of Northwest governments from three northwest B.C. regional districts advocating for more revenue resulting from resource development in the area.

Repen said in the post he was taken to Wrinch Memorial Hospital in Hazelton where he received x-rays that revealed a spinal concern. He wrote he was then transferred to Mills Memorial in Terrace for a CT scan, which revealed the injury was pre-existing and his neck pain was determined to be muscular in nature.

He planned to be at a Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako meeting in Burns Lake Thursday and thanked everyone involved in helping him.

He also took the opportunity to take a swipe at ICBC:

“With the exception of ICBC. They are absolutely terrible, and I’ll be addressing their approach and issues in a future post. I’ll leave you with this suggestion for a slogan; ‘ICBC: Adding Insult to Injury in BC for 45 Years…’”
