On Monday evening a CN train was forced to stop because of four teenage girls on the tracks near the VIA Rail Station. A CN Rail Train Master said the teens, approximately 14-16 years old, were playing chicken with the train.
The train operator walked up and down the tracks but did not see any signs of anyone being struck.
Smithers RCMP were unable to find the group. According to police, CN will obtain video from the train in an effort to identify the youth.
