Tragedy struck in Kispiox Village on Thursday night, May 19, when a 16-year-old female was killed in a suspected four-wheel all terrain vehicle (ATV) roll-over accident.
The New Hazelton RCMP reported that shortly after 11 p.m. they responded to a report that a pedestrian who was out for a walk in the Village had found a female who appeared to be alone by an ATV, according to Cpl. Graham French.
He said she appeared to be operating the ATV, riding alone, when it she lost control and the ATV rolled. Unfortunately by the time they arrived the female was dead at the scene and the police are not releasing the name of the victim at this time.
The incident is currently being investigated by the New Hazelton RCMP and the BC Coroners Service and police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the accident of the female riding the ATV to call the New Hazelton RCMP.
