Smithers Town Council voted to move the second sheet of ice project forward by selecting C & M Development Inc. to be the contractor for the project at their regular council meeting last night.
Council also decided to form an advisory committee, made up of Councillors Frank Wray and Mark Bandstra and members of the Second Sheet of Ice committee, to work with the contractors to keep the project within the $4.7 million budget.
"Let's quit spinning our wheels," Councillor Norm Adomeit said.
"It's time to do it!"
