On Sunday evening at 8:11 p.m., Smithers RCMP received a report that an 18-year-old woman had fallen 40 metres down the Grad Rock formation.
Grad Rock is located at the base of Hudson Bay Mountain, behind the CN Rail Yard in Smithers.
Smithers search and rescue conducted a recovery of the woman who at first was thought to be in critical condition, but upon attending hospital, her condition was downgraded to fair as she was only suffering from numerous cuts and abrasions.
Smithers RCMP would like to thank the members of the search and rescue team and BC Ambulance for their quick and effective response to the situation.
