A bus driver for SD 54 has been named 2023 Driver of the Year by the Association of School Transportation Services of British Columbia.

“Dinty shows kindness, patience and respect to those who board his bus regardless of their age, and his manner along with his calm demeanor leads to positive interactions and behaviour management and a feeling of respect shared with those around him,” one of his nominators said.
Interim transportation manager Rolanda Lavallee said that Dinty is the first and last happy face most of the children see each day and operates with a no-nonsense style in a kind way that inspires the students to listen and respect him.
