Remains found near missing Alaska man’s vehicle in northern B.C.

A coordinated search by search and rescue teams from northern B.C. has found human remains on Hwy. 37, 140 kilometres south of Dease Lake.

The teams from Stewart Search, Buckley Valley, Houston, Terrace and Kitimat found the remains in the immediate area where Anthony Adevai’s vehicle was found abandoned on Nov. 29. The 70-year-old man suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and advanced dementia.

Search crews found clothing and personal items believed to have belonged to Adevai but the BC Coroners Service is still working to confirm the identity of the found remains. Adevai’s family has been notified.
