The Village of Telkwa had 15 police-related files over the Telkwa BBQ long weekend, nine of which occurred at the BBQ grounds during one of the events.
The incidents included causing a disturbance (four files), public intoxication (two files), assault (one file) and impaired operation of a motor vehicle (two files).
Most incidents occurred during the rock and country & western concerts on Sept. 3 and 4. All individuals were lodged in police cells until sober and released without Criminal Code charges.
The driver of an ATV was arrested near the site and charged with impaired operation. Citizens are reminded that Criminal Code impaired driving charges apply to all motorized vehicles including ATVs, snow machines, trail bikes and power boats.
