On March 14th, 2012 at 1:45 pm, the Smithers RCMP received a complaint of a hit and run at the Smithers Courthouse in the parking lot. The red 2011 Toyota Rav 4 was parked in the lot
on March 13 , 2012 for the entire day. The owner returned to find his vehicle with damages to the rear left bumper, left side panel and passenger mirror. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers or the RCMP.
Approximately 25 per cent of the calls for service in the past week were related to public intoxication or consumption of liquor in public.
These types of calls are both offences under the Liquor Control and Licensing Act and are enforced with fines served through violation tickets.
