Moricetown Band and Kispiox Band held their election nomination day last week.
As of June 15, Moricetown had 13 nominations for chief and 68 for council. Those who have been nominated had five days from nomination day to withdraw.
A couple of notable names in the running for chief are current chief Duane Mitchell and outspoken activist Freda Huson.
In the Kispiox Band, there are 10 candidates for chief and 59 for council.
Moricetown will hold their election July 27 from 8 a.m. through until 8 p.m., while the Kispiox Band will have their election July 20 from 9 a.m. until midnight.
