New Hazelton man faces 11 charges in assault case

Lane Peepchuk faces 11 charges including aggravated assault, forcible confinement and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Anyone with information on an alleged aggravated assault is asked to contact Hazelton RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

New Hazelton RCMP conducted a search warrant at a local residence and one man has been charged in connection with an ongoing investigation.

Lane Steven Peepchuk, 43, has been charged with 11 offences:

· Aggravated assault,

· Possession of a firearm while prohibited (x2),

· Forcible confinement,

· Possession of a weapon dangerous to public (x2),

· Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x3),

· Fail to comply with a probation order (x2).

Peepchuk has been remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear in Hazelton Provincial Court on Tuesday, April 4.
