More snow means more caution needed

Another snowfall warning is in effect from Smithers to Terrace with more to come this weekend.

There are slippery sections with compact snow that have made driving hazardous throughout the Northwest.

Drivers are reminded to take it slow as vehicles have been hitting the ditch with reports of some being transported by ambulance. There are no details yet on injuries.

Avalanche control is also taking place 16 kilometres west of Terrace from 1 to 3 p.m. causing minor delays, according to DriveBC.

A vehicle recovery six kilometres east of Houston is reducing Highway 16 traffic to single lane alternating traffic until noon Friday.

There is a snow fall warning for Highway 16 from Smithers to Terrace today into this evening, with most accumulation closer to Terrace. More snow is expected, heavy at times, this weekend. Get your latest forecast at interior-news.com/weather.
