Brad Layton is seeking re-election for a second term on council.. If re-elected, his priorities include fiscal responsibility and keeping tax rates low by promoting economic growth and attracting businesses to the area. He also wants to focus on increasing community safety along the highway corridor by reducing speed limits and adding crosswalks, working with council to mitigate dangerous goods being transported through the community and continue with the community wildfire protection program to turn Telkwa into a fire-smart community.
“Once I did get involved, I realized it was a lot more work an anticipated, but at the same time, it's pretty rewarding,” said Layton.
